Monthly £30 Prize Fastest Typist Competition No.22 Commentary

Update Friday 15th April 2022 16:38 BST

It’s half way through the month and entries are very light. Haider Azam has attached himself to 1st Place with a 64 WPM and 98.53% accuracy – that’s good typing, 2,500 fast keystrokes with very few mistakes.

But look at 2nd Place.  New competitor jamesl from the United States – hello and a warm bsbltyping welcome to out Monthly £30 Prize Fastest Typist Competition jamesl – is champing at the heels of Haider.  Jamesl clearly has speed, and lots of it, but he’s going a bit too fast for his accuracy and that’s kept him in 2nd Place because he has not yet passed the 98.5% and over accuracy threshold.  Come back and try again jamesl and you could take the top spot, but you’ll need to slow a little bit in order to get the accuracy you need and you could end up in 1st Place just like you currently are in Weekly £10 Prize Competition No.107.

Dreadnought has made a good stab at things and has a solid 54 WPM but a not so high 94.23% accuracy to take 3rd Place and Tricky Dicky is in 4th Place with 56 WPM and 93.22% accuracy.

There’s a fortnight and a bit to go, plenty of time to come back and improve those scores, and who knows who else arrive and take a shot and improving their Previous Personal Best.

A final thought, if anyone is going to be smashing records, think about recording it and putting the video online.  People like to see people typing fast, especially where there’s a cash prize involved
