Commentary on Monthly £30 Prize Fastest Typist Competition No.1

July 2020 marks the start of our first Monthly £30 Prize Fastest Typist Competition and it’s proving to be a challenge for our competitors.  Not one 100% accuracy score achieved by anyone but it’s the constancy of accuracy and speed that makes Yue Jun, the winner of our first ever Weekly £10 Prize Fastest Typist Competition hold on to 1st Place to the close of the competition and to win with a creditable 51WPM and 98.81% accuracy.

We can see from the data that Yue Jun made a lot of attempts to improve her score over the course of the month – that’s a good thing about the Monthly competition, you have plenty of time to try and try again.

Two of our elite fast typing comptetitors, TyrantTick, and MindyPop, both  gave our Monthly competition a try and achieved spectacular 102 WPM and 104WPM respectively but neither had enough accuracy to surpass Yue Jun who by that time, through many attempts, had refined her score to a massive 98.81% accuracy over the 2,500 keystrokes involved in typing 500 words of the competition text.  This means that she made 26 mistakes so there was scope for a careful challenger to beat this but no one did and so Yue Jun, the first Weekly £10 Prize Fastest Typist Competition Winner pulled off a powerful One-Two by winning the first Monthly £30 Prize Fastest Typist Competition too.  She is truly a worthy winner.

Acknowledgments go to all our other competitors two.  It was a mixed bag of results, some WPM higher than others but lower accuracy; essentially a cross section of typing skills.

Better luck next time to all concerned and once again, a well deserved £30 prize went to Yue Jun.
