Monthly £30  Prize Fastest Typist Competition No.27

Update Sunday 11th September  2022 10:25 BST

I need to start with some general messages tonight.

  1. I apologise for the lack of a Daily £5 Prize Fastest Typist Competition this week, it was my fault it didn't start.  I enjoy martial arts and fitness training and over the past month I've picked up a number of training injuries which individually didn't actually have much effect on me but a recent heavy blow received in boxing sparring and an awkward fall onto a hard wooden floor during Krav Maga training were two final items that caused me not be able sleep on Sunday, Monday night and Tuesday nights and left me feeling absolutely exhausted and at the time that the Daily Competition should have started on Tuesday evening at 8pm I had simply, at last, fallen asleep.

However, I'm on the mend now, taking it a little bit easy, and I'm now writing up the various commentaries and getting back on top of things.

  1. I would also like to thank wholeheartedly members of our wonderful international speed typing community who sent us kind words and thoughts with regard to the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.  Your thoughts are very appreciated.  I was born in 1949 and I grew up seeing  the beautiful young Queen Elizabeth throughout my life.  She was a part of the fabric of this wonderful, tiny group of countries that make up Great Britain and she will be sadly missed, her passing marks the end of an age.  However, we now have a new King, King Charles III and our monarchy continues, as it has done for centuries, it’s one of the defining virtues of Britain.
  2. Moving on, you might be pleased to hear that we're very close to sending out the invitations for the first ever Daily Winners £25 Big Match which is due take place on Tuesday 4th and 5th October 2022, with further Big Matches scheduled after that.  As ever with all of our Big Matches, all Winners of a Daily £5 Prize Fastest Typist Competition will receive an automatic invitation to take part and will receive either a £5 Amazon Gift Card or £5 cash to show our appreciation of the support of our Winners for taking part in the Big Match.

All Big Matches are two competitions in one with one set of competitors being the Winners who compete against other and the second is between WILDCARD competitors.  These are competitors who have taken part in a Daily £5 Prize Fastest Typist Competition but who have not won.  These places are allocated on a first-come, first served basis, so watch out for your invitation to take part and register straight away to guarantee a chance to win a cash prize.  The Cash Prizes in the  Daily Winners £25 Big Match are, for Invited Winners: 1st Place £25, 2nd Place £10 and 3rd Place £5.  For the WILDCARD competitors the Cash Prizes are: 1st Place £10, 2nd Place £5 and 3rd Place £3.

If you haven’t already taken part in a Daily £5 Prize Fastest Typist Competition then please do so in order to receive your WILDCARD invitation.

So, back to the Update for Monthly £30 Prize Fastest Typist Competition No.27

We see that multiple Daily £5 and Weekly £10 competition Winner, Moiz Hussain from Pakistan, is at the top of the scoreboard with a world class 105 WPM and 98.65% in 23 Attempts.  Maybe Monthly Competition No.27 will a first Monthly Competition win for Moiz.  We’ll have to wait and see, it’s still only the 11th of the month and anything can happen – and usually does.

In 2nd Place with 79 WPM and 97.52%  is a fast typist from the US, BlowZedBlowZed is currently below the Previous Personal Best of 91 WPM and 98.89% accuracy of Monthly Competition No.26.  Can BlowZed improve this score and maybe beat that Previous Personal Best?  Let’s wait and see.

Regular player kavitha appam from India has only made 2 Attempts so far and hasn’t achieved that trademark high accuracy score that kavitha usually attains with just 94.94% accuracy and 38 WPM.  Maybe it’s because the text has more numbers and upper case characters this month, it’s not as easy to type as previous texts.  But, that’s the fun of the challenge.  Please come back and show us what you can really do, your Previous Personal Best was a very solid 60WPM with 97.91% accuracy in Monthly Competition No.25 so you’ve got a good target to aim for.

WayneL from the UK is currently supporting everyone in 4th Place with 42 WPM and 94.08% accuracy, a long way below Wayne’s Previous Personal Best, but that’s just in 2 Attempts.  Come back Wayne and show us what you can do.

We still have nearly three weeks to go, so there’s plenty of time to practice and increase your scores.

On Tuesday at 8  p.m. BST we start the Daily £5 Prize Fastest Typist Competition No.41 so get yourself warmed up on the Weekly £10 and Monthly £30 competitions and then launch yourself on the Daily £5 competition ????

And please also take a see our Facebook page and don't forget to Like and Follow. Thanks!  facebook.com/bsbltypingfacebook.com/bsbltyping

A final thought, if anyone is going to be smashing records, think about recording it and putting the video online.  People like to see people typing fast, especially where there’s a cash prize involved.

Monthly £30 Prize Fastest Typist Competition No.27

Update Wednesday 29th September 2022 10:58 BST

Moiz Hussain, the current Fastest Typist in Pakistan, sits in 1st Place at the top of September’s Monthly £30 Fastest Typist Competition No.27 with a world-class 109 WPM and 98.53% first-time accuracy.  This month’s competition text is more challenging than some previous ones so although Moiz didn’t manage to improve on his Previous Personal Best score it is nonetheless a good score.  Maybe even a winning score, but there is still a day and a half before the competition ends at 20:00 BST on Friday 30th September 2022.

In 2nd Place is Haider Azam, also from Pakistan,  with a good 86 WPM and 98.77% first-time accuracy.   Interestingly, Haider has a Previous Personal Best score in the Daily Competition of 117 WPM and 100% accuracy.  We know that we’re not comparing eggs with eggs when we ask if Haider could up his game and type as fast in the Monthly Competition as he does in the Daily Competition.  What is the barrier – for all players in fact – is it psychological or is it physical i.e. the hand-eye co-ordination and muscle reflex.  An interesting point we think.

BlowZed from the US is a quick typist and we’re confident that if BlowZed returned and made more attempts then a move up the scoreboard is possible.  BlowZed scored 79 WPM and 97.52% accuracy in just 3 Attempts and it would take an improvement of just 10% to move up to 2nd Place.   BlowZed scored  91 WPM with 98.89% accuracy in last month’s Monthly competition.  Let’s see if BlowZed returns and shows what real potential is there.

WayneL from the UK is in 4th Place with 44 WPM with 95.78% accuracy, followed by regular competitor kavitha appam from India in 5th Place with 38 WPM and 94.94% accuracy, a long way below kavitha’s Competition No.25’s Personal Best.

New player Zenode from Pakistan has a solid 55 WPM – which is good over this 500 word challenge – but a lowish 89.77% accuracy.  First of all, we wish Zenode a very warm bsbltyping welcome and good luck in our competitions.  Secondly, we can see that you have potential and we hope that you will become a regular player in all of our competitions and that we can hopefully see you improve over time.

Zulfiqar Ali  from Pakistan (although the scoreboard is showing you as being in Japan for some reason) is becoming a regular player, it’s nice to see you taking part regularly Zulfiqar.  It’s your first time trying our Monthly Competition and we can see that you are continuing to be a very determined competitor, with 39 Attempts so far.  We admire tenacity and look forward to watching your gradual improvement over time Zulfiqar.

Monthly £30 Prize Fastest Typist Competition No.27

Update Friday 30th September 2022 11:47 BST

We’ve just seen a powerful attack on the 1st Place on the scoreboard by shaz from Norway, the 2021 fastest typist in the world over both 1 Minute and 15 Second Duration typing and the current 2022 fastest typist in the world over 500 Words.  When such a speed typing icon visits a scoreboard there can be no doubt of the outcome and that has been proved again with shaz taking 1st Place from Moiz Hussain, the current fastest typist in Pakistan, with a decisive 125 WPM and 98.69% first-time accuracy.

Compared to shaz’s Previous Personal Best of 192 WPM and 98.97% accuracy this relatively low score illustrates again that the text in this month’s typing challenge is more difficult than usual but it hasn’t stopped shaz from making over 10 keystrokes per second over 2,500 characters with such amazing first-time accuracy.  Well done shaz, it’s nice to see you back.

However, perhaps one person who isn’t glad to see shaz back is Moiz Hussain who has been working very hard over these past many months to increase his speed typing skill and has so far made 515 Attempts this month to achieve 109 WPM and 98.53% first-time.  This is once again a terrific score and this month puts Moiz in 2nd Place.

Everyone else on the scoreboard has generally moved down one place.  We don’t know what other surprises are in store but keep checking the scoreboard!

Monthly £30 Prize Fastest Typist Competition No.27

Summary Saturday 1st October 2022  09:22 BST

Nothing changed after our last update yesterday and we have a fine Winner, shaz from Norway who achieved 125 WPM with 98.69% accuracy over the 500 Words competition text. Well done shaz, you are now a Monthly Champion and you will be invited to take part in our Monthly £100 Big Match as soon as we get a quorum of 10 Monthly Champions.  We currently have 9 so we’re pretty close now.

A very special mention has to go to 2nd Place competitor Moiz Hussain from Pakistan who set a record for Attempts, 965!,  as he chased shaz but it wasn’t to be and Moiz finished 2nd with a very respectable 109 WPM and 98.53% first time accuracy.

In 3rd Place Haider Azam, also from Pakistan, turned in a very workmanlike 86 WPM with 98.77% accuracy and was followed by BlowZed from the US with a good 79 WPM with 97.52% accuracy.

Everyone else remained in their relative positions.
