Results of our data analysis of the timein seconds between consecutive
correct keypresses made by our users in French .

The results are displayed as Top 10 tables

This page uses data exclusively from our Typing Testers in French

The results are calculated for the last 24 hours only due to the load on which otherwise would be placed on the server

The data is collected from the following Better Skills Better Life products:-

  • One Minute Typing Test, Tests 1 - 6
  • Full Typing Test, Tests 1 -6

The results for each language is set out in a table with columns as follows:

  1. Top 10 Quickest times in seconds between consecutive correct keypresses
  2. Top 10 Least Quick times in seconds between consecutive correct keypresses
  3. Top 10 Average times in seconds between consecutive correct keypresses

All times are measured in seconds to three decimal places.

The tables marked Quickest and Least Quick each contain column headers which refer to Best and Worst times to next key. This is the time in milliseconds between the user pressing consecutive keys, with the condition that we only record the time of the second keypress when that key is the correct key in the context of the text in the typing test. For example:

The text in the test says ‘ass; asset’. If the user types ‘assl’ – that is, ‘ass’ followed by the letter ‘l’ instead of ‘;’ we don’t record a time between the second letter ‘s’ (of ass) until the user presses the correct key which is ‘;’.

The table marked Average contains the average time of all user typing tests between the character key displayed in the table and the next correct key. Because this is the average time to any consecutive correct key we don’t identify any following consecutive key.

Ranking Key Best time to next key Best time to next key - the key character

Ranking = The position in the Top 10 table

Key = the character on the key that was initially pressed

Best time to next key = this is the lowest number of seconds recorded in our database of user keypresses, measured to three decimal places, between the intitial key press and the next correct consecutive key

Best time to next key – the key character = this is the ‘next consecutive correct key’ which follows the initial key that was pressed
