The data is collected from the following Better Skills Better Life products:-

• One Minute Typing Test, Tests 1 - 6
• Full Typing Test, Tests 1 -6

The results for each language is set out in a table with columns as follows:

Key = the character on the key that was pressed

Best time to next key = this is the lowest number of seconds recorded in our database of user keypresses, measured to three decimal places, between one key press and the next correct consecutive key

Best time to next key – the key character = this is the ‘next consecutive correct key’ which follows the initial key that was pressed

Worst time to next key = this is the highest number of seconds recorded in our database of user keypresses, measured to three decimal places, between the initial key press and the next correct consecutive key

Worst time to next key – the key character = this is the ‘next consecutive correct key’ which follows the initial key that was pressed

Average time to next key = this is the average time, calculated in seconds to three decimal places, between an initial key press and the next correct consecutive key

Note that the table below contains only the keys which have been typed by our users in English and ordered by Average Time to Next Correct Key. This is unlike the tables of Alphabetical Order lists of keys on Pages 17a-o, which contain the full list of all keys in the BSBL text for ease of reference from one language to another
