This Privacy Policy governs your use of our website, content, and products, services, technologies, features and functions offered by Better Skills Better Life Ltd, the owners of the website


By accepting and consenting to this Privacy Policy, you expressly consent to our use of your personal information in accordance with this privacy policy and our Terms and Conditions set out on our website. You accept and consent to this Privacy Policy when you Register on our website to use our products, whether on a free trial, no payment basis subscription, or by paid subscription.


Except as provided herein, no personally identifiable information is collected beyond that which is identified  as stated. You agree that we may aggregate any information which we collect or maintain, and that we may use such aggregated information for internal analysis or for marketing purposes.


We may disclose your information to: a) answer any questions that you might make which would require us to have your information b) comply with a valid legal process c) respond to governmental enquiries d) to safeguard our own rights e) comply with applicable laws


Personal Information is defined as information which can personally identify you.  In this context the only Personal Information that you provide to us if you do not purchase a Subscription from us is the e-mail and user name that you provide to us to Register for a User Account on our site.  We retain or delete this according to circumstances:


  • If you choose to Register with us and then delete your User Account yourself and you do not select the ‘Right to be remembered’ option in your User Account we do not retain your Personal Information and will delete it within 8 weeks of your deletion of your User Account.  This eight week period is required for us to ensure the smooth running of our systems.
  • We may provide a user with a Free Subscription which by definition does not involve a user completing a financial transaction.  For those Free Subscribers who then delete their User Account theirselves and who do not select the ‘Right to be remembered’ option in your User Account we do not retain your Personal Information and we delete it within 8 weeks of your deletion of your User Account.  This eight week period is required for us to ensure the smooth running of our systems.
  • If you have a Free Subscription and your Subscription expires and you do not delete your User Account your User status will become ‘Registered User’ and your Personal Information is then dealt with as a Registered User.
  • If you have has at any time a Paid Subscription and your Subscription expires and you do not delete your User Account your User status will become ‘Registered User’ and your Personal Information is then dealt with as a Registered User except for the information that needs to held by us because of the financial transaction of purchasing the Subscription.
  • If you purchase a Subscription the data that we must retain is governed by relevant laws regarding, but not limited to, financial account records in order that we can account for revenues.  In this case we retain Personal Information for the period required by law in any country or territory which governs the operation of our business.
  • The above is subject to any obligations placed by us by the law or regulations in any relevant country or territory which has jurisdiction in such matters.
  • The accounts of Registered Users who have not deleted their accounts and who have not made any typing activity on any of our products for a period of one year may be deleted to free up system space.  The account will not be deleted until we have first sent out two e-mail reminders, 28 days apart,  to the e-mail address which is registered to the user account.  The user account may be deleted 28 after the sending of the last of those e-mail reminders  unless the user has made some typing activity or has themselves deleted the user account.


The use of our products is possible to a limited extent with our Trial Versions and Typing Testers without providing personal information but in order to operate our Better Skills, Better Life Typing Tutors website and products fully we offer the option to users of our website to Register with us or to Subscribe. Registration and Subscribing requires a a user to provide a user name and e-mail address.  When a user is Registered or a Subscriber and they use our products this triggers the creation of a User Account which allows the user to make certain settings to personalise some of the functions and services that we provide for the user.  This includes   the service of sending motivational and coaching e-mails and reminder-to-train and other e-mails. Our motivational and coaching e-mails contain analysis of the keypresses that you make when you use our products.  The analyses allow us to provide you with individual statistics and guidance and recommendations.  The keypress data taken in isolation is anonymous and by using our systems and products you expressly agree that this data will not be deleted when your User Account is deleted and that you agree to our use of the data for research, marketing, the improvement of our systems and for any other legitimate purpose.  We may combine the keypress data with the optional data that you have provided in your User Account which is similarly anonymous when taken in isolation and similarly use that data in isolation or combination with the keypress data for research, marketing, the improvement of our systems and for any other legitimate purpose.  By agreeing to the terms of this Privacy Policy you expressly consent to and agree to us using and processing your data in the manner set out herein. This Privacy Policy describes the information we collect and how we use that information. Better Skills, Better Life Ltd takes the handling of your information very seriously and will use your information only in accordance with the terms of this Privacy Policy.  For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, the term “information” means any personally  identifiable information as defined below.



We initially use your e-mail address to confirm your Registration or your order for your Subscription.


We communicate with our Registered and Subscriber users on a regular basis whilstsoever they are actively using our products by e-mail in order to provide the service that we advertise of providing motivational and analytical reports by e-mail.  


 We also use your e-mail address if you communicate with us directly or through our Contact Us page and to send you information about important changes to our products and services, and to send notices and other disclosures required by law.   Since these are key communications which are informational and not promotional the user  cannot opt out of these communications. 


No e-mail communications will be sent to you if you de-register or your subscription ends and you have not in your User Account set the ‘Right to be remembered’ setting to agree to us contacting you by e-mail from time to time or if you have been a paying customer and we need to contact you with regard to any financial transaction. 



Other e-mails that we may send can include items such as ‘News from Better Life, Better Skills’, customer surveys and notices of special promotions.    You can choose whether to receive some, all or none of these communications at any time by logging in to your User Account on the Better Skills, Better Life Typing Tutors website.



  1. When you Register we will require you to provide a Username and a valid e-mail address. 
  2. When you purchase a Subscription to become a Paid Subscriber we will require you to make payment through our Merchant Services.
  3. When you become a Registered User or a Subscriber you will be provided with a User Account which allows you access to various settings which include those that allow you to affect the timing of the preparation and the delivery to you of various e-mail communications.  You can also use the settings to stop the sending of e-mails to you.
  4. Your User Account gives you the option for you to provide information which when read with your name is of a personal nature but when read in isolation without your name is simply unidentifiable data.  By using our services, whether you pay for them or not,  you agree that we may use this data in combination with other data that we collect from users to build general profiles of users by general geographic location, age, gender, physical traits or disabilities and any other profiling that the data is able to support. 
  5. You can also close your account through your User Account. If you close your Better Skills Better Life Typing Tutors account, we will mark your account in our database as "Closed", but will keep your Account Information in our database.. However, if you close your account, your personally identifiable information will not be used by us for any further purposes, nor sold or shared with third parties, except as necessary to prevent fraud and assist law enforcement authorities, or as required by law.


Communications generally: When you communicate with us for customer service, sales,  accounting queries or for any other reason we retain such information and our responses to you in the records of your account.


We point out that the transmission of data over the Internet i.e.  e-mail messages, can be liable to attack by mischievous and harmful third parties. A complete protection of messages sent over the Internet is not possible.


Certain websites and services provide plugins which allow us to provide buttons on our website and in our e-mails to you which allow you to share our web pages and e-mails on, for example,  your Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp and WeChat accounts.  We are not responsible for the technical aspects of those plugins nor the website and system of those sites and their services to which the plug ins link.  You should check the information and privacy policies on those websites on which you have an account to which you wish to link our pages or e-mail content.



How We Use the Information We Collect


When you Register or Sign or log out the way that the Internet works allows us to automatically receive the web address of the site that you came from or are going to.  We may for statistical and analytical and marketing purposes a collect and store device sign-on data, including but not limited to browser type and geolocation data.  To help to improve our website and the services that we offer we also collect information on which pages of our website you visit, IP addresses, the type of browser you use and the times you access our website.  When you access our website or use our products and service we may place small data files called generally and collectively called cookies on your computer or other device. If you believe someone else has obtained access to your password then you should change it.


From time to time we may employ the services of other parties for dealing with certain processes necessary for the operation of the Site. The providers of such services may have access to certain personal Data provided by you.  We will take steps to ensure that the providers of such services are bound by the terms of this agreement insofar as they can apply to the provision of those specific services.

  • tell us that you do not wish to receive marketing information;
  • to withdraw your consent of us procession your personal information (insofar as your consent is required).  Such withdrawal of consent will not affecting the lawfulness of our processing based on your consent before its withdrawal.

You agree that in the event that the owners of the website Better Skills, Better Life Limited merge with, or be acquired by, another company then if such an acquisition occurs then the acquiring company will continue to be bound by this privacy policy until it is amended.


We reserve the right to alter our Privacy Policy.  Unless there are legal reasons for a more immediate change to our Privacy Policy we will provide at least 30 days notice of any changes and the effective date of those changes.  Any such changes to this privacy policy will be notified to all users for whom we have personally identifiable information held in our system. We will post a notice of any changes to our privacy policy on the Policy Updates page of our website and/or send notices by e-mail to Registered Users and Subscribers.  As of the effective date of the revised privacy policy you will be considered to have consented to all changes to the Privacy Policy.  Should you disagree with the terms of our Privacy Policy you can unsubscribe from receiving e-mails or delete your account with us at any time.
